This day has been an exciting day for me. I don't see any donation coming in yet(You can do so by clicking the Chip In Widget on the right sidebar and it will take you to a secure Paypal page) but this day has opened my eyes to several things.
First, Twitter is indeed powerful. I set up an account yesterday and I now have 14 followers. If these 14 followers re-tweet my tweets to their followers, then we'll have viral marketing in action. Second, I signed up for two of the most popular photo forums and introduced myself and my plight in the introduction section of each forum. I got a 'hmmmm' comment from one of the forum posters. Now, I know asking for donations to buy an expensive camera gear can raise eyebrows but I'm not rich and I'm not forcing anyone to send donations my way. In fact, if donations are out of the question, then I would rather have you press share to facebook or twitter on the sidebar so you can tell your friends and family about this site.
Another thing I'm most excited about is that I managed to get the guts to write to Karyn Bosnak of savekaryn.com. I told her about my blog and my hopes of following in her footsteps. I wonder if she gets to read my email and if she'll be the first contributor to my Nikon D3100 fund. Let's just wait and see if she replies to my email.
Right now, my blog has 34 hits. Please help me spread the word and click share. To make things even more exciting, you can answer a poll on the sidebar if you think I'll be able to raise $700 before Christmas of 2010 and have a merry Christmas with a new DSLR.
